Today was another long day on the campaign trail. We visited a few shopping areas in the afternoon to meet the voters, before going to a pasar malam and a small surau.
Two ceramahs were held tonight, one in SS5D Kelana Jaya and the other one in Taman Mesra, Batu 3.
I started of with Gaddafi at SS5D, then went off to Taman Mesra. But since we still had a bit of time, we decided to visit SS5D again and meet the new guests among the crowd. Afterwards, the hosts treated us to supper with a few guests. One of them was an Indian active in the local neigbourhood association.
He complained how he allegedly received threatening calls from some UMNO leaders for introducing Indian musicians and lion dances at a Merdeka Dinner. The leaders even openly racially insulted him.
“I’m not a Muslim, but I remember a Muslim friend explaining to me how important neighbours are in Islam, regardless of creed… Once, when my son was sick, I called a taxi to take him to the clinic. When my Muslim neighbour found out, he scolded me because he explained the paramount responsibility a Muslim owes to all his neighbours.”
But neigbourly sentiments are only used by BN as a cover for their divisive and backward politics. Let’s move forward!

Wahla.. its no longer a surprise that an UMNO leader would such thing.
Aren’t we the “bersopan-santun” people? Then let’s live up to it! Love they neighbour

February 26th, 2008 at 2:58 amSalam Nik!
Its amazing to know you ‘virtually’ from my Uni days in the States up to today when you are for a seat in S’gor . Ive been reading about you a lot from websites, your personal, suaraanum.com etc. You are highly educated from a top notch school with an excellent writing & mind expression capability and now you’re honored to be in DSAI’s office as his close comrade. I see a bright future in you and Im confident that you can rise to be an element of change for this nation especially among the young gen.
To all voters in Nik’s ‘future’ constituency, I plead to you vote for Nik on march 8th. The future of this country is in the hands of the new generation.
